Highlights for “State of the Church” Message

Pastor Bob shared Jeremiah 29:11 – 14 and Proverbs 16:1 – 9 as the scriptures God had laid on his heart as he prepared for this presentation.

Where we came from:  A brief account of the history of First Baptist Church was given with a spotlight on the last 5 years.  Since September 1, 2000 we have been blessed by 34 baptisms and 20 new members by transfer for a total of 54 new members to our family.  During this same time 40 members have departed our church to go Home, move out of the area or join other churches.

Where we are now:  First Baptist Church currently has 63 active members and 27 inactive members for a total membership of 90 brothers and sisters.  Our average Sunday School attendance is 27.1 and our worship attendance averages 64 family and friends.

What we have accomplished:  Pastor Bob reviewed a lengthy list of items we have accomplished in the areas of our property, worship, ministry, evangelism/outreach, fellowship and discipleship.  We praise the Lord for all of the great things He has done through His people here at First Baptist Church.

Where are we going?:  Short term goals include providing conferences to our community, mirror sanctuary video system on right side of sanctuary, purchase a LCD projector, quarterly church newsletter, pave parking lot, remodel white building for use as a youth building, purchase and operate a low power FM radio station, installing internet service at the church, going on a mission trip outside of the valley and developing a ministry/counseling center.  Long term goals included purchase of property adjacent to current facilities, construction of new worship, family activity and mission buildings and installing more RV spaces.

Focus 2006:  COMMUNITY  First Baptist Church will seek and implement ways to improve our sense of community both inside the church and in the community.  This will be done through playing the “TAG!  You’re it” game, “I Love My Church”  program,  planning and brainstorming sessions and other activities with a commitment to Visitation, Visibility and being God’s Vehicle to carry His love into our community

God is doing great and mighty things in our church and in our community!!
